El jazz funk del bajista Japonés y su banda “Rising Sun”. Mantiene un espíritu post- John Coltrane. De Japón se mudó a Nueva York, donde a colaborado en más de 50 álbumes. En Estados Unidos se abrió camino con el álbum “Three Blind Mice”, 1973. Ha tocado con Stanley Turrentine, George Benson, Roy Haynes, Grover Washington, Nona Hendryx y Hellen Merrill, entre otros muchos. “Manhattan Special” son ocho temas que mantienen fresco el bajo en ese espíritu jazz funk. Con la colaboración de John Mosley en la trompeta, Art Webb en la flauta y Herbie Hancock en los teclados. Hemos elegido la pista numero 3; “Mescalito”, para reflejar lo comentado.
