Monty Stark, Oklahoma. Guitarrista y compositor antes de establecerse en el vibráfono. A mitad de los 60 fundó su propio trío “negro”; Stark Reality. Armonías de free jazz, be-bop, funk, fusión, textos ácidos y un alto grado de psicodelia. En esos mismos años 60, Hoagy Carmichael recopiló el trabajo de Stark Reality para una mítica serie infantil de televisión, con la asistencia de Ahmad Jamal y Hoagy Bix y sus giras con el trio. Stark Reality es una banda de culto. Un tótem cultural.
