La historia de Chris Hinze es, sobretodo, curiosa. Se inició como pianista en Holanda. Y después de tocar por toda Europa, regresó a su país para entrar en el

Real Conservatorio de la Haya y estudiar flauta. A finales de los 60 gana una beca para una prestigiosa academia de Boston, para estudiar producción y arreglos. Empieza a desarrollar una fusión de jazz y barroco. Hasta aquí, todo académico. Principios de los 70. Chris Hinze forma su banda; “The Chris Hinze Combination”. Empiezan sus viajes místicos: Indonesia, India y Japón. En Bombay empieza a improvisar otros instrumentos junto a otros músicos de estas culturas: las ragas y la flauta de bambú. Chris inventó lo que a día de hoy se considera “musicas del mundo”. El maestro de la fusión funk-jazz-rock y sonidos de extremo oriente. Un concierto en el prestigioso Jazz Festival de Montreux. Su producción para grandes álbumes y artistas: Jasper Van´t Hof, Peter Tosh, Michal Urbaniak, Urszula Dudziak y Larry Coriell entre otros tantos. También fue de esos compositores que encontró la espiritualidad en el Tibet. Chris ha grabado más de 60 discos. Y ha conseguido fusionar mil y una usanzas: desde su jazz-barroco, su estilo indú, violines japoneses con otros estilos más centro-europeos, como el jazz búlgaro, entre tantos ejemplos. Actualmente reside en su refugio de las montañas de Ibiza. Todo un personaje y figura. “Misión Suite” es un álbum altamente explosivo y genial. Misticismo, psicodelia, jazz y espiritualidad.
